Introduction
PlayStation players should take advantage of the 'Rebuild Database' feature. This feature scans the drive and creates a new database of all content, thus cleaning the drive. It works as a defragmenter and fixes some issues, frees up memory space, and is touted by many to speed up your console.
Rebuilding Your Console Storage Database
If you are experiencing game freezes or drops in framerates, it is one thing to try during your troubleshooting and mod testing period. It may not help with all issues, but it is a good place to start. Set some time aside to do this. Depending on how large the database is and how many items it has to go through, it may take a length of time to complete.
